Nevic has been studying and caring for trees since he was a very young man. He received his initial training as an Arborist in the California Department of Forestry and has been working with trees in Central Texas since 1994. He has served on the Austin Urban Forestry Board and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Texas chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture. The Texas Forest Service named Nevic the 2011 Texas Arborist of the Year. He provides our initial consultations with clients and oversees all aspects of our job sites.
They Might Be Monkeys strives to put the most well educated and trained crew possible to work on our clients’ trees. We employ our crewmembers on a full time basis with an emphasis on continuing education and upward mobility in the tree care industry. As our employees develop we prepare them to become Certified Tree Workers. Once they meet the requirement of 18 months experience in the industry they have the skills and experience necessary to pass the hands on skills test and written exam for this certification. Once they have three years of experience they will have be ready to test for the certification of ISA Certified Arborist. Helping each and every one of our employees to reach this goal is very important to us. We provide a job site supervisor with ISA Certified Arborist qualifications on all of our sites. We pride ourselves on employing bright, intelligent, hardworking, and friendly folks who will be pleasure to have on your property.
It is very important to us that our workers and your property are kept safe during all aspects of our work. They Might Be Monkeys proudly meets or exceeds industry safety standards. All of our production work is performed to ANSI A300 standards and our job site operations are performed to ANSI Z133 standards. Our employees are required to wear helmets, eye protection, and appropriate work boots and uniforms at all times on job sites. When needed they are also required to wear hearing protection and chainsaw chaps. At They Might Be Monkeys we NEVER climb trees without safety harnesses and ropes in place to prevent falls. All of our climbers are certified in CPR/First Aid and have been formally trained in high angle rescue. We schedule regular safety meetings and provide regular continued education in job site safety. We carry high levels of liability insurance to protect our clients and workers compensation insurance to protect our crew. The safety of our crew, our clients, and our clients’ property is our highest priority.
At They Might Be Monkeys our Office Manager and all around Den Mother, Larissa Swindle, staffs our office. When you reach out to us via phone, email, or through the contact form on our website she will be your point of contact. She can help you with additional information on services, scheduling a consultation appointment, scheduling proposed work, paying invoices, and all other manner of requests. While she rarely has the opportunity to meet with clients in person, Larissa prides herself on establishing the best possible client relationships from her post at our office.
